10 Month Anniversary

Ben, Mikah and I celebrated our 10 month anniversary as a family this past March 18th. That was on a Thursday. Ben and I are still getting into the routine of doing Saturday Market, so this photo wasn’t actually taken til the following Tuesday. Why not Monday? Because we were so exhausted!

As you can see, Mikah has a new skill- pointing (he was pointing at the flashing little red light on the camera). He loves to also shake things, clap, and make low gruffy noises (I call it his “demon voice”). He still hasn’t started walking yet. We predict that will happen soon enough. Right now we’re all just happy that he can crawl around (which is mobile enough for now!).

Ah, Mikah… you are growing up much too soon.

We were on the radio!

We’re so excited that Kimberly Schlegel Whitman did a little segment on us. You can listen to it at the 103.7 Lite FM website (based in Texas). We met her last weekend at Saturday Market. She loved the crayons so much she promised to mention us on the radio.
She does a “Lifestyle” segment on the Gene and Julie show. This aired this past Friday.

Here is a quote from her about the Kitty Egg Crayons,

“I was thrilled when I stumbled upon the KittyBabyLove booth at the Saturday Market in Portland last weekend. The adorable kitty shaped crayons were the perfect thing to bring back for our son, JR! The crayons are made at home by Sara and Ben who describe themselves as stay at home parents who cherish the time they are able to spend raising their precious son. The business is clearly a family operation but I must say that the items look so stylish and chic that it is hard to imagine they are not backed up by a major branding corporation or a professional design team!”

Portland Saturday Market

Portland Saturday MarketThis past weekend was the grand opening of Portland Saturday Market for the new year. We were there both days to enjoy the unusually beautifully warm weather. There were lots of people to enjoy the waterfront view, good food, music, children’s corner (this was new!), and all the handmade goods. See all the little white tents in the background in the image above? That’s where you’ll find us!

Kitty Baby Love in the Orgeonian

Most exciting was an article in the Sunday Orgeonian paper that featured Kitty Baby Love! Our picture was on the front page of the Metro NW section and included a review on Saturday Market (scored 109/100 points) and a couple of interviews on new vendors there.. like us! What a great way to start a new year at the market.
