Google Analytics – View visitors visiting a specific item by city
February 25th, 2009 | Posted by in ComputerIn my example I am viewing what cities are viewing the Rice Kitty.
- On the left hand menu select “Content” > “Content by Title”
Your etsy pages will be listed by their titles. Your main shop page will probably be first. - Select the page title you want to view. In this case it is the “…2 Custom Boo-boo Kitty Stress Doll”
- This will take you to all the links used to view that page. For example, visitors may find your link through a treasury listing or a link from etsy search, which has a unique referral link from the regular listing link. More on that on BlogHandmade, with a shortcut of keywords here.I just clicked the most used link (Item #1), which happens to be the direct link for this listing.

- From this page you can view general information such as Unique page views, bounce rate, etc.
From the “Dimension” drop-down menu, select “City“ - There you go! A list of views made from cities around the world to that specific item. I got most of the Rice Kitty views from Portland! To reference this more easily, click on “Add to Dashboard” at the top of the page.
Dashboard view after clicking “Add to Dashboard”
You can also use this for your main shop view and see what international cities are viewing your shop. Use this information to cater to your customer- for example you could include specific international shipping location options on your listings if you know you are getting a lot of views from a particular country.
It’s also just fun to know where in the world your item is being viewed :] Have fun.
