The two kitty paws (above) are actually erasers that adhere to the body by magnets…
Unfortunately they don’t work! The beautiful heavy wood we picked out is just too thick. The little rail on the bottom of the chalkboard to hold chalks is also a nice touch, but was eliminated with the idea that chalkboard kitty will serve better as a car/travel companion… which would make having a rail rather silly!

We will be keeping our prototype pictured above and selling the 3 chalkboard kitties that were completed as a limited edition piece. They will come with colored chalk, an eraser, and a reusable canvas bag to store it all in. Why limited edition? It just takes way too long to make. All the corners and edges are rounded as a safety feature and take forever to do (and are thus more expensive to make)… just look at all those curves around the tail and feet! It just wouldn’t be cost effective. Also cutting the shape out is impractical to do out of our home on a larger scale… *sigh*
So while we would love to make more of these (they are so cute to have around the house), it’s back to the drawing *ahem* chalk boards for us…

Bowling for Cats

In addition to chalkboard kitty (which is now cut out in wood- Just needs to be sanded and painted and assembled…….) we’re doing a new item- a bowling set! I am very excited for it.
We have big plans for these little ones… now if only we can make more time to finish them.

The front ‘pin’ is a test that Ben did. I was thinking we could offer them in natural wood finish and also in limited edition painted versions. It would be fun to continually think of new themes. Ben and I tossed around a few ideas… Alice in Wonderland, Star Trek, Harry Potter, bowling pins….
Submit an idea to us and maybe we’ll use it!

The background signage is what we will be using for our craft show. It’s chalkboard paint on one of Ben’s handmade and stretched canvases. The little front painted wood piece is for the price, which is yet to be determined.

Something is brewing in the house of Kitty Baby Love!

Ideally we will have these ready in time for a debut at the Renegade Craft Show, but with time, transportation, and financial limitations, Who knows what will happen…
So, after staring at a can of chalkboard paint I recently bought, Ben came to me with an idea….

We also got our 6′ table yesterday and decided to set it up in the living room- so we can look at it and play with the display. We like the look, but still need to fill it with merchandise.. As you can see, we still have a lot more work to do.
