Continuing with our Lovely Package Exchange theme… This is our package swap from Elizabeth of ThereisBeautiful
Here is what we sent her:

The box was made from yellow thread and lots of origami. You can see the paper cranes flying on the side of the box.

Inside:
+ 4-pack Kitty Egg Crayons
+ personalized little drawstring bag with jewelry inside
+ old wooden cigar box filled with misc. items like origami cranes and balloons and decorated clips with butterflies
+ paper envelopes made from Victorian floral eye puzzles (floral arrangements have portraits hidden in their drawings)
+ stickers (not visible)

And what we received:

All wrapped in raffia, a pin, and some vintage lace…
+ Set of handmade notebooks
+ paper cutout of bicycling girl
+ Star cutout stationary set
+ vintage photos
+ wrapped book

The Exchange has come and gone. Here are the photos from the swap! We had 2 lovely partners and will make a post for each partner… here is Nicole & Jason of Gocco Boom!

Here are the packages we sent them…

Box made from Japanese eye puzzle prints (there are 2 faces per head… viewed rightsideup or upsidedown) + raffia.

Lovely Package Exchange

Ben and I will be moving to Portland, Oregon next month- and what better way to break into our new home than with mail. I have always loved the feeling of receiving a package addressed to me. I’m not talking about spam/junk mail, but a beautiful and thoughtfully put together package from another human being. That said, Ben and I just signed up for our first package exchange!

The emphasis on the exchange is on packaging- how the item looks when you first receive it in the mail- hence the inspiration collage. What a lovely idea by oh, hello friend. I really can’t wait to get our exchange partners (we signed up for 2) and get started on preparing the packages.

If you are interested, the sign up deadline is Monday, July 27, and partners will be assigned the following day on Tuesday, July 28.

So far there are over 170 participants! Photos of all the packages will be available to be viewed on the group’s FlickR Lovely Package.
